Please Help This Precious Little Girl!

As a teacher, we tend to get very attached to our students--especially the sweet ones, the ones who always try their best, the ones who are always willing to do whatever it takes to be successful. My friend Sophie is just such a girl! She's smart, she's sweet, she's kind to others--and she has a horrible illness that is making her miserable, causing her severe pain, and keeping her from having the normal childhood she deserves.

Her parents are doing everything they can to provide the best medical care for Sophie but the costs are adding up. Sophie is in 4th grade and has already had 26 surgeries on her kidneys. I can't even imagine what it must be like to walk a mile in her little shoes.
Despite all of the difficulties, she still manages to come to school with a smile on her face (on days when she's not in the hospital or at home recovering from surgery.) I look forward to working with her in my small group because she is always cheerful and positive.  She's a little ray of sunshine and it hurts my heart to know that she is suffering so much.
